A visually impaired student, Mr Gideon Amedu, of the Nigeria Law School has been offered a full academic scholarship by a renowned philanthropist and football club owner, Barr. Paul Edeh.
The scholarship totaling 500,000 naira is to enable Gideon offset bills associated with his law studies without seams.
Barr. Edeh who is also the Chairman of Benue State Football Association redeemed the pledge immediately after announcing it during a surprise visit he paid the NLS headquarters in Abuja yesterday.
Addressing up to 20 Nigeria Law School students from Benue State in the premises, Barr. Edeh recounted how he passed through the hurdles of being an undergraduate Law student at both Benue State University and Nigeria Law School, noted that Law School is a challenging academic experience but that success is guaranteed with persistence, dedication and focus.
Barr. Edeh then commended the visually-impaired student, saying that he is a perfect example of what society should encompass.
Also speaking, a former governorship aspirant in Benue state, Hon. Richard TersooMnenga, who is also a student of the Law School, thanked Barr Edeh for his notable philanthropic gesture.
Hon. Mnenga described the visual impaired student as as one of the brightest students of the school despite his plight.
