Vote buying is getting riskier for politicians – Tope Fasua
The former Presidential candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Tope Fasua says introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation system, BVAS, by INEC into the electoral process has made vote buying and rigging a risky venture for politicians and political aspirants who seek to undermine the process.
Fasua made the statement while featuring on Corruption Tori webinar with the theme”2023 Elections: Reducing Corruption – Role of politicians and institutions”.
He said that politicians in their quest for power, manipulate the entire electoral process from start to finish.
According to him, the manipulation of the process starts from the selection of party members who will become delegates to vote for party primaries to inducing the electorates with either cash or gift rewards.
