FG approves new salary structure for NIMC staff

The Federal Government has approved new conditions of service and salary scale for the staff of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, stated this during the formal presentation of the approved conditions of service to NIMC staff in Abuja on Thursday.

Dr Isa Pantami said NIMC conditions of service was a comprehensive document, saying that it would serve as the machinery through which the commission would articulate and implement its personnel policies and programmes.

According to the minister, the NIMC plays a critical role that impacts the life of every Nigerian and for people legally resident in the country.

NEDC donates 1000 housing units to Borno IDPs

More than 1000 units of two-bedroom bungalows built by the NorthEast Development Commission (NEDC) have been handed over to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno State.

The Commission also built and handed over an ultra-modern Burn and Trauma Centre at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for the treatment of Boko Haram bomb victims.

Speaking at the Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Maiduguri on Thursday, NEDC Managing Director Mohammed Alkali identified the project as part of the 10,000 housing programme was approved by the Federal Government in 2019 under the Special Presidential Intervention in Borno State.

President Buhari vows to prosecute fraudulent NDDC contractor

The Federal Government says it will initiate criminal investigations, prosecution and funds recovery against contractors, firms and politicians indicted by the forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

President Muhammadu Buhari said this on Thursday when he received the NDDC audit report from the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio

According to him, the Federal Government will apply the law to remedy the deficiencies outlined in the report.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), who represented the President, noted that the government was concerned about the colossal losses due to uncompleted and unverified projects in the Niger Delta. #

APC expels council chairman for insulting Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled the party’s Caretaker Chairman for Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, for making derogatory statements about President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee approved Adamu’s expulsion from the party at its 16th meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.

A statement on Thursday in Abuja by covention Planning Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, said the expulsion takes immediate effect.

Nigeria Vs Liberia: Lagos Shuts All Roads to Teslim Balogun Stadium

The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of roads leading to the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere on Saturday.

This is as the Super Eagles of Nigeria clash with Liberia in a World Cup qualifying match at the stadium.

The advisory also stated that movement from Kilo, Masha through Shitta bridge to the stadium will also be closed.

Though the match is scheduled to start at 5.00 pm on Friday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the government said as from 12.00 pm it would divert traffic leaving and coming into Surulere at Stadium.
