PDP Will Crumble If I Leave – Kwankwaso
Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, is confident that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will crumble if he leaves the party.
Although Kwankwaso says he is not happy with the main opposition party at the present, he affirmed that he has yet to defect from the party.
He made the remarks during an interview with newsmen, where he spoke about his political ambitions, he insisted that he remained in the PDP, but his new political movement, the National Movement has joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Buni Remains APC Caretaker Chairman – Gov Uzodimma
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma on Monday said his Yobe State counterpart Mai Mala Buni remains the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.
Buni’s position had come under scrutiny last week after Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State assumed the Chairmanship position as he left the country for medical treatment.
The Niger State Governor’s chairmanship is said to be backed by the President, according to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, amid reports that Buni was planning on delaying the APC’s planned convention this month.
However, on a television programme on Monday, governor Uzodimma said due process will have to be followed for Buni to be removed from his position. #
Stakeholders Reach Agreement To Prevent Shut Down Of Airlines
Aviation jet A1 fuel is to be sold at N500 within the next three days to prevent airlines from shutting down.
This is according to the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mele Kyari after a meeting with marketers, regulators and operators in the aviation industry.
The meeting, which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Wase, was in continuation of the investigation over the scarcity and high cost of aviation fuel, which has led to an increase in airfares.
Kyari said a better pricing mechanism is to be put in place within the next three days to arrive at an acceptable price.
EU Adopts New Sanctions Against Russia
The EU on Monday adopted new sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, with diplomats saying the oligarch Roman Abramovich was among the individuals listed.
The EU presidency, currently held by France, tweeted that the ambassadors of the bloc’s 27 member nations approved the fourth package of sanctions, hitting individuals and companies “implicated in the assault on Ukraine”.
Their names were to be made public in a “quick” publication of the EU’s Official Journal legally announcing all the European Union’s decisions, it said, adding that the sanctions were worked out in concert with Western partners. #
