Sunday Igboho Released From Custody In Benin Republic

The embattled Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, has been released by the Benin Republic Government.

The activist, who is fondly called Sunday Ighoho, was released on Monday to the leader of the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Banji Akintoye, and his deputy, a French Language Expert and Chieftain of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Wale Adeniran.

In a statement issued by the Communications Secretary to Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, Akintoye described Igboho’s release as a Triumph of Truth over Darkness in Yoruba Land. #

Let Bygones Be Bygones, Acting APC Chairman Charges Party Leaders

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has urged stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sheath swords and press on amicably ahead of the 2023 elections.

The governor, who on Monday declared himself the acting National Chairman of the APC, stated this at a meeting where he addressed state chairmen of the ruling party.

According to him, it is time to heal all wounds, come together and give peace a chance. #

I Have No Plans To Dump PDP For APC – Shaibu

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Monday said contrary to speculations, he won’t dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

After falling out with his political godfather, former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Shaibu, and his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki, Shaibu dismissed rumors of his nursing plans to return to the APC. # 

Strikes: Call ASUU To Order, FG Tells NLC

The Federal Government has urged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to advise its affiliate, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to abide by the provisions of the Trade Disputes Act and call off its ongoing strike.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2022 edition of the National Labour Advisory Council (NLAC) in Lagos, on Tuesday, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige also urged the Council to discuss as part of its agenda, a workable recipe that appropriately conciliates disputes with associations that are not properly registered as trade unions, to ensure that they fully abide, by the provisions of the law. #

Buhari approves houses for 1994 Super Eagles members

The Federal Government has approved the allocation of houses to 22 members of the 1994 Super Eagles in their various states, thereby fulfilling a pledge made to them 28 years ago by the then administration.

A statement in Abuja on Monday by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing stated that the President, Muhammadu Buhari announced the approval in Lafia, Nasarawa, during the inauguration of the completed homes under the government’s National Housing Programme.

The ministry said that the provision of the housing estates across the country was informed by the government’s desire to achieve one of its primary objectives, which was to improve the human living condition. #
