We’ll demolish more houses in Abuja-FCTA
The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, says it will demolish more houses in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, if what he called “infractions and abuse of Abuja master plan” continues.
The Director, Department of Development Control in the FCTA, Muktar Galadima, made the threat on Wednesday while demolishing 25 houses in the Kyami District of Abuja.
Galadima warned that the FCTA would no longer condone land racketeering and grabbing in the area, adding that the administration is determined to correct all infractions and abuse of the Abuja master plan.
Wednesday’s demolition is coming barely one week after the department pulled down 102 houses built on waterways and flood plains in Gwagwalada, in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCt.
“The FCTA has already made it clear that the actions and activities of land racketeers cannot and will never be condoned. That is why we are removing all those illegal developments.
“About 25 solid structures were removed and this is not limited to Destiny Estate alone; it’s a continuous exercise and we will remove all illegal structures across the territory.”
The FCTA Director, Development Control, advised the public to always ensure compliance and obey the rules and regulations guiding developments in the nation’s capital.
