Youth Empowerment : FG Launches Generation Unlimited Initiative

State Governors, Government officials, Entrepreneurs, members of the diplomatic corps, UNICEF and other programme partners gathered at Transcorp Hilton Abuja to officially launch the generation unlimited Initiative, a programme designed by UNICEF to help Nigeria overcome its unemployment rate and achieve economic growth.

In his keynote address, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo via a recorded video said he is optimistic that empowerment will help Nigerian Youths realise their full potentials.
He said that the presidency, state Governors, Ministries, Departments and Agencies will partner with generation unlimited Nigeria to make the programme a reality, adding that failure to invest in the future of Nigerian youths will have its consequences.

The Chief Executive officer of Generation Unlimited also called GenU, Kevin Frey, in his remark said that the opportunity GenU offers will only happen if youths have the right to digital skill and access to opportunities.
He thanked the Tony Elumelu Foundation for his steadfastness since the project began in 2018

Speaking at the event, The Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said the State will partner with GenU.
He also identified areas where the State government is touching the lives of youths positively.

United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Edward Kallon expressed optimism, that Nigeria’s youth will be the pillar of economic revolution in Africa and engine of transformation and innovation.

GenU Nigeria, a partnership to make a difference, aims to transform, educate, employ and give needed skills to young people by bringing them together with government, private sector, influencers and international development partners.
