Youths set house of suspected native doctor on fire for burying 3-month-old baby in Rivers

The house of the Mike Indiana in Eduoha, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers, who was accused of burying a three-month-old baby has been destroyed by youths in the area.

Angry youths in the community set the house ablaze after Indiana who was described as a native doctor mysteriously disappeared.

The pictures of his alleged victims were also seen tied together with chains and charms and have been displayed in the community.

Some of the youths accused the man of being responsible for the deaths of some people in the community.

One of the youths said “this man is evil, he ties people’s destiny. He uses chairs and chains and the person’s picture to tie the person and hang it under the mango tree.”

He said someone had a cry of a baby in the land where the native doctor uses for his business.

According to him the community people went to the location the next day and discovered where the baby was buried which led to a “mob action” and the site was destroyed.

“Another youth said “one of our brothers who died was killed by juju and the man we suspect is responsible has disappeared and we have been looking for him since morning.”

Another youth also confirmed that “two people were shot dead” by members of the local vigilante group in the community who were chased away by the youths after they had tried to intervene in the matter.”

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said he is still waiting to be briefed by the Ahoada area command before he can make comments on the incident.
