Sao Tome and Principe have withdrawn from the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifying race.
Sao Tome and Principe were scheduled to take on the Super Falcons in a first-round qualifying fixture later this month.
It was learnt the country’s football authorities have already communicated their decision to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Nine-time champions, Super Falcons have now secured a berth in the second round without kicking a ball.
The Nigerian girls will take on the winner of the tie between Cape Verde and Liberia in the second round.
The winner of that contest will compete at the 2024 WAFCON which will be hosted by Morocco.
The Super Falcons finished in fourth position at the last edition of the competition also hosted by Morocco.
