President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the senate to confirm Abdulrasheed Bawa as substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Femi Adesina, the presidential spokesman, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the president conveyed his request in a letter to Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Bawa, who is 40 years old, is one of the pioneer EFCC cadet officers since 2005.
He will be taking over from Muhammed Umar who has been in an acting capacity since July 2020 after the suspension of Ibrahim Magu over allegations of corruption.
He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics, and a master’s degree in international affairs and diplomacy.
