EFCC Chairman Tasks Students on Ownership of Anti-graft Campaign

The Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has advised Nigerian students to take ownership of the fight against corruption and financial crimes in Nigeria.

The EFCC boss who spoke through the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Osita Nwajah, while receiving students of Marhum International School, Keffi, who were on an excursion to the EFCC Headquarters on Wednesday, charged the students to play their role in the fight against corruption, as well as demanding what is rightfully theirs.

According to a statement by Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren. Bawa expressed his gratitude to the students for their visit to the Commission and asked them to be attentive and take their studies serious.

Head, Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit of the Commission, Aisha Mohammed also implored the students to join hands with the EFCC to make the Nigeria of our dream a reality.

On his part, Chief Superintendent of the Commission’s Cybercrime Unit,  Daniel Nwaka, admonished the student to be bold and courageous.

He further explain to them what Cybercrime was all about, the merits and demerits, as well as citing examples of people who have made wealth and influence using the computer such as Mark Zuckerberg, Alibaba amongst others.

He however cited Ramon Olorunwa Abbas also known as  Hushpuppi, who is languishing in jail and cannot see his family, as an example of a cybercrime offender, and warned the students to learn to ask about the consequences of their actions while using the computer or the internet.

The principal of Marhum International Academy, Mr. Adam Yahaya expressed gratitude to the management of EFCC for the warm reception accorded them.
