Enugu State: APC stakeholders unite to reposition party

•UPHOLD ZONING OF STATE CHAIRMANSIP POSTION TO GREATER AWGU

APC stakeholders in Enugu State rose from a crucial meeting yesterday with a resolve to “reinvigorate and reposition” the party in the State

In a communique after the meeting which held at the official State APC Party Secretariat in GRA Enugu, participants said they were tired of what they described as “avoidable and unending factionalization of the APC in Enugu State, by anti APC leaders, which has made it impossible for the party to win even a councilorship election in the State”.

The communique which among other resolutions reaffirmed “that the position of APC Enugu State Chairman remain zoned to Enugu West Senatorial Zone and further micro-zoned to Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency also known as Greater
Awgu” called on Mr Ugochukwu Agballa to “stop parading himself as State Chairman, as he did not participate in any constitutional or legitimate APC congress on the 16th of October, 2021”

“That the said Ugochukwu Agballa is not a registered member of APC in Enugu State and can not vote or be voted for in any APC congress
“That documents Ugochukwu Agballa presented, purporting his membership of APC are fake
“That the National Headquarters of APC should through it’s National Reconciliation Committee, urgently wade into the crisis created by the Dr Ijomah Arodiogbu Congress Committee in Enugu State.
“That any result forwarded to the National Headquarters of APC by the fraudulent Dr Ijomah Arodiogbu Congress Committee purporting to be the result of the Enugu APC State Congresses should be disregarded as Dr Ijomah did not conduct any  congresses in Enugu State”

The communique said participants drawn from across the three Senatorial Districts “represent major interests in the APC in Enugu State with the sole aim of achieving equity, fairness and justice, invaluable ingredients that guarantee growth, inclusiveness and electoral victory in any political association.

“That we are united in this stand with other major stakeholders of APC in Enugu West, including but not limited to His Excellency Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, former Governor of Enugu State, Emperor Baywood Ibe, a major financier of the party, Mrs Juliet Ibekaku Nwagwu, Special Assistant to the President on Justice Reform, Mr Osita Okechukwu, DG Voice of Nigeria, Group Captain Joe Orji (PhD) and Hon Chikwado Chukwunta”

Participants at the meeting called for peace and unity of purpose to “resist the efforts of PDP agents and disgruntled enemies within our party working with them, to hijack the APC in Enugu State through Ugochukwu Agballa, for their selfish interests and destructive agenda.

The meeting had in attendance Group Capt Joe Orji, Comrade A C Ude and Hon Timothy Amah, the three candidates from Greater Awgu who were candidates for the position of APC State Chairman.

In separate speeches, they expressed their readiness to work together for the good of the party.

The communique was signed by Dr Ben Nwoye and Chief  Anike Nwoga  for Enugu East Senatorial District, VinMartin Obiora Ilo and Ozo Joe Mmamel  for Enugu West Senatorial District and Hon Otuji and Ejiofor Okoloagu for Enugu North Senatorial District.
