The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the FCT Civil Service Commission will begin operations soon.
Wike announced this on Monday while inaugurating the construction of a five-kilometre dual carriageway in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
The former Governor stated that this development marks a first in the history of the territory, adhering to the provisions of the FCT Civil Service Commission (CSC) Law, 2018.
In October 2023, Wike announced President Bola Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of the CSC for the FCT.
He explained that the establishment of the civil service commission would enable civil servants in the FCT Administration to advance to become permanent secretaries.
“Very soon, the FCT Civil Service Commission will be announced. This has never happened before.
“Mr. President means well for the FCT. That is why you must continue to defend the mandate of Jagaban (Tinubu) because he means well for the entire country”, he said.
Wike stated this initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, aimed at restoring hope among the populace.
“The renewed hope agenda is not just on paper; it is practical because you can see it, feel it, and touch it. I know things may not be moving as fast as we expect, but what is important is that Nigerians are beginning to rekindle their hope for change,” Wike said.
