Fight Against Corruption: Functional Website will Boost Access to information – CISLAC

Samuel Oyimafu, the Program Specialist of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), says for the anti-corruption fight to be won, there is need for a functional website of Government and Anti-graft agencies to boost their activities.

Oyimatu stated this, on Tuesday at the Corruption Tori Follow Us Fight Corruption Series Webinar on “Access to information, a condition for Citizen Participation”.

According to Oyimatu, Section 2 of the Freedom Of Information Act has encountered challenges such as poor record-keeping among government establishments and lack of sensitization of the ACT among citizens and others.

The webinar in attendance has Jeff Onyetu, Assistant Director, Freedom of Information Department, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Samuel Oyimafu, a Program Specialist, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, (CISLAC), Sayo Samuel Dada, a Program Officer of Shehu Musa Yar’adua Foundation, members of the public, journalists and Staff of Signature Communication Limited.

Corruption Tori which is supported by MacArthur Foundation is a program that educates ordinary Nigerians on corruption and ways of fighting it.

The Third edition of Follow Us Fight Corruption webinar series comes up in October.
