Gov. Ugwuanyi charges clerics to pray for peace, unity of Nigeria

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has called on clerics to fervently pray for the restoration of peace and unity in the country.
Ugwuanyi made this call on Friday in Enugu during a prayer meeting at the Government House Chapel, Enugu.
The prayer meeting was led by the Prelate, Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Uche, and other clergy of the church.
The prelate and other ordained priests of the church are in the state for the 9th National Convention of the Church.
Meanwhile, Ugwuanyi described the visit and the prayers offered as a watershed in his administration and urged the clergymen to continue to intercede for the nation.
“I humbly enjoin you to continue to pray for peace in our country, lives and administration,” Ugwuanyi said.
Earlier, Uche prayed God to intervene in the current security challenges in parts of the country.
The prelate also prayed against the activities of bandits and other terrorists and for the sustenance of peace, security and progress of the country.
