Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has sworn in 14 new commissioners recently screened by the State House of Assembly.
Performing the ceremony at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Yenagoa, on Monday, Governor Diri said the ceremony marked a pivotal moment in the state’s journey as he commences his second term.
He said the administration used the first tenure to lay the groundwork for a prosperous Bayelsa across various sectors but noted that there was still much work to be done.
The governor charged the new appointees to commit themselves to fostering inclusive prosperity for all Bayelsans as their success will be judged not by individual accomplishments but by the collective impact they make.
He charged them to initiate legacy projects and programmes in their various ministries to accelerate development of the state as well as exercise prudent financial management to ensure efficient utilisation of resources.
