I Desire to Hand Over A Nigeria Free From Adversaries To My Successor – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he hopes to hand over a Nigeria free from insecurity challenges and economic woes, to his successor when he leaves office in 2023

He made the remark on Friday, in an exclusive interview with the Nigerian Television Authority monitored by Signature TV.

According to the President, he has no third term agenda and was committed to stepping down in 2023, though he was optimistic the All Progressives Congress will continue to win elections and steer the affairs of the nation.

The President reassured Nigerians that his administration was committed to securing the country from all forms of violence, banditry and terrorism while acknowledging there were still challenges especially in the acquisition of military hard-ware and training.
He said that the Armed Forces has improved since he came into power in 2015

The number one citizen condemned #EndSARS violence and burning of government facilities, noting that such actions were bound to drive off prospective investors.
The President also acknowledged that corruption remained a nagging problem, and blamed Nigeria’s legal system for the drag in disposing corruption cases.

Buhari, while noting that Nigeria’s economy is still a work in progress, said his administration has focused on building public infrastructure.

He added that his administration has also prioritized the production of fertilizer in order to fight food insecurity.

The President said his administration’s decision to close the country’s borders for months has boosted agricultural production, regretting that oil as one of Nigeria’s means of sustenance is collapsing.
