In less than Forty-Eight hours after the Nigerian Police sent a contingent of One Hundred and Forty-Four Mobile Policemen to Somalia to help restore peace in troubled areas of the Country, the acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of senior police officers from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and above attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
In a letter dated April 15, 2021, addressed to the EFCC Chairman and signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General, Idowu Omohunwa, the police boss hinged the decision on the operational requirements of the force and directed the affected officers to report not later than Wednesday 21st of March.
