The Kano State Government says the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II. was deposed on Monday because of his failure to attend meetings, honour invitations and accord due respect to the office of the executive governor of Kano state.
In a statement by Alhaji Usman Alhaji Secretary to the Kano state government, the dethronement of emir Sanusi was unanimously endorsed by the Kano State Executive Council chaired by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje
The statement said that the deposition of Muhammad Sanusi 11 was to check the likely destruction of the image of the Kano Emirate which the conduct of the Emir was likely to cause.
