KREMLIN URGES DE-ESCALATION BETWEEN IRAN AND ISRAEL

Kremlin has refused to confirm or deny if Moscow has been fore-warned of Iran’s strikes against Israel.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin however urged all sides in the Middle East conflict to hold back from any action that will trigger new conflict which he said would be catastrophic for the region.

The spokesman to Kremlin Dmitry Peskov said he has nothing to say on the issue saying it is against the interests of Israel, Iran, and the entire region.

He said the Russian Federation continues close, constructive working contacts with Iran while maintaining effective engagement with Israel.

Peskov said there is an ongoing dialogue on the call for de-escalation and beckoned on other countries in the region to exercise reasonable restraint over situation which he described as very serious.
