The Muslim Professionals in Da’awah (MPD) in collaboration with the Education, Social and Health Mission (MESH) an NGO under the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic affairs, has trained and empowered Sixty reverts with self-sustaining skills in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Reverts, 60, from Taraba and Adamawa, were trained for four weeks on Islamic education and skills acquisition, and were presented with startup kits and certificate to start their own business.
The reverts were trained on fashion designs, barbing, shoe and bag making, snacks making among other skills, for four weeks.
Twelve people were presented with sewing machines, twelve people were given stove, frying pan and other utensils for catering, and twelve people were also given shoe and bags startup kits, ten people were given barbing startup kits, fourteen people were given personal care products startup kits.
Executive Secretary, Muslim Professionals in Da’awah, Umar Rufai, gave the overview of the group that they invite people to Islam through spiced dialogue and commitment to human values and peace.
MESH, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Muhammad Haroun Eze, giving the overview of the group says one of the objectives of the group is to empower individuals, families, and communities through comprehensive educational initiative that promote social well-being and a catalyst for social change and improved outcomes.
The reverts expressed their gratitude and thanked the groups for giving them such opportunities to learn new skills and promised to use it wisely.
