Nigerian singer, Omah Lay arrested in Uganda

Police in Uganda, have confirmed that they have arrested and detained Nigerian singer, Omah Lay, for flouting COVID-19 protocols while performing on Saturday night at a concert held at Speke Resort.

The deputy police spokesman, Kampala Metropolitan, who made this known in a tweet via his Twitter account on Sunday also, said the singer was picked by Katwe Police together with the venue manager Ivan Dungu and events manager Prim Kasana.

However, the Police is yet to disclose charges preferred against the Nigerian which could be related to doing a negligent act that could lead to the spread of a pandemic.

“Nigerian Artist Omah lay has been arrested by katwe police.

“The manager of the venue one Dungu Ivan and the Events manager Prim Kasana are also in custody. More details to follow,” the tweet read.
