The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) held its13th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The theme for the 13th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference is ‘Building Peoples’ Power, National Unity and Quest for a New Social Contract’.
The two-day conference was attended by Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, FCT Minister, Presidential Candidate of Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and others top government officials.
The conference also birthed new executives and a consensus candidate was chosen to take over from comrade Ayuba Wabba as he bowed out officially as president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) after an eventful eight-year tenure.

Even as he said the new cashless policy and the unending petrol scarcity in the country is adding more hardship on the life of Nigerians.

A human right activist, Femi Falana, regretted that things have all gone up and life seems to be tiring for Nigerians in the face of economic challenges. He encouraged the congress members not to get tired.

Comrade Oshomole advised the members of the congress to be watchful of the policy directions of the presidential candidates to be able to make informed decisions on who they will support. He said NLC remains a strong formidable union devoid of partisanship, religion and ethnicity.
Earlier, Wabba led the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the Central Working Committee members, National Administrative Council and the National Executive Council of NLC to commission a hotel in honour of the first President of NLC, Hassan Sommonu.
The building is worth about N350 million.
The SGF, who inaugurated the building, lauded the investment drive and achievement recorded by the out-going leadership of the NLC.
He described the project as a worthy investment and a legacy that should be encouraged upcoming leaders of the union and urged the members to manage the edifice as it is set up to raise funds for the congress.
