A new civic movement, Renewed Hope for Better Nigeria (RHBN), was formally unveiled on Monday in Abuja with a call on Nigerians to embrace constructive engagement, national unity, and sustained support for the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at the official unveiling, the National Convener of the movement, Hon. Dr. Calistus Anyanwu said the organization was established by patriotic Nigerians who believe that the Renewed Hope agenda provides a pathway to building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation.

According to him, the movement is committed to educating Nigerians on the objectives and benefits of government reforms, promoting informed public discourse, and mobilizing grassroots support for policies aimed at advancing national development.

He noted that although the Tinubu administration inherited significant economic, security, and fiscal challenges, it has demonstrated the courage to implement difficult but necessary reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange market reforms, expanded investment in education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, infrastructure development, and efforts to strengthen local government autonomy.

The Convener stressed that the organization was not created for political patronage but to promote issue-based engagement, insisting that governments should be judged by performance, reforms by results, and policies by their impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He announced that the Renewed Hope for Better Nigeria has established structures across the six geopolitical zones, the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, local government areas, and wards to deepen public understanding of government policies and encourage citizen participation in governance.

As part of its operational framework, the organization unveiled key committees, including the New Media and Publicity Committee, Protocol and Logistics Committee, Strategy and Integration Committee, and Welfare Committee, with additional committees to be created as the movement expands nationwide.

The group also disclosed plans to embark on nationwide town hall meetings, stakeholder engagements, and public enlightenment campaigns aimed at explaining ongoing reforms, gathering citizens’ feedback, and strengthening communication between government and the people.

Calling on Nigerians from all walks of life—including youths, women, traditional rulers, religious leaders, professionals, members of the business community, and the diaspora—to join the movement, the Convener emphasized that nation-building is a collective responsibility.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to remain committed to reforms capable of delivering long-term national prosperity.

“Our message is simple and unwavering: Let us move Nigeria forward, not backward. Let us strengthen reforms, not abandon them. Let us build a greater Nigeria together.”
