The Rotary club of Abuja, Karu Housing Estate on Saturday 31st, October, 2020 installed Rotarian Nimi Lawrence as the 5th President of the club.
The Investiture which held in Jikwoyi, Abuja also served as the formal send-off of the immediate past President, RTN. Babatunde Adeshina.
The Outgoing president of the club Babatunde Adeshina in his speech, thanked God for sparing his life to witness the handing over ceremony.
Recalling how much the organisation had grown since its establishment he said: “Rotary has grown to become a global organisation renowed for her impact in people’s lives through humanitarian services. As we grew, Rotarians pulled their resources and used their talent to serve the world, starting from their communities. These humanitarian acts have inspired us to herald a new Rotary year”
The incoming president, Rotarian Nimi Lawrence, who promised continuity of service, also outlined some of the projects to be carried out by his administration to include construction of a Primary Health Care Center, provision of a water borehole for their immediate community, vaccination for hepatitis B & C, renovation of schools, amongst others.
While appreciating his predecessor and members of the club, he also pleaded for their support, saying without them no meaningful achievement would be recorded by his administration.
The ceremony also witnessed the induction of seven new members and presentation of awards to three individuals for their contributions to the club.
