Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Monday inaugurated a Security Tower and City Gate built by the Ihe Community in Awgu Council Area of the state.
The project worth N55 million and situated at the entrance of
the community, was built by a group known as the Ihe G-10 to secure the community from all forms of criminal acts.
Inaugurating the project, Mbah said the project aligned with his policies towards securing entire Enugu State and make it crime free.
The governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Prof.
Emmanuel Obi, said that his administration had initiated Command Centre infrastructure with cameras to monitor activities in strategic areas of the state.
Earlier, the President of the G-10, Air Commodore Chiemeka Ozoemena
(Rtd), said that the group decided to build the security tower and city gate due to the security challenges being faced in the community.
According to him, the Ihe group of 10 decided to create a security
infrastructure at the community entrance that will take care of security at the vulnerable points.

He explained that the Ihe G-10 was initially made up of 10 prominent
young men from the community, saying that the association now currently had about 12 members.
He lauded Mbah for his numerous project, saying the group was very
much in tune with what he had been doing to ensure that Enugu was
secured.
