Eid: Buhari Asks Christians, Muslims To Jointly Pray Against Kidnapping, Banditry
President Muhammadu Buhari in his Eid-el-Fitr message to Nigerians asked both Christians and Muslims to unite and jointly pray against tragic incidents of kidnapping and banditry.
This was disclosed in a statement signed on Wednesday by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The President also called for practices that promote brotherhood and forgiveness noting that unity and solidarity among all citizens is imperative especially at this time when Nigeria is faced with multiple challenges.

Former Lagos council boss Sakiru busted with cocaine, N145m seized
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a former Vice Chairman of Lagos Island East local Council Development Area, LCDA, Asekun Sakiru, with cocaine, with N145 million retrieved from him and his associate.
He was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, according to a statement issued by NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi on Wednesday.
The NDLEA said Asekun has been on the wanted list of the Agency following the recent arrest of some traffickers and drug seizures linked to him.
While commending the officers and men of the MMIA Command of the Agency for resilience and dedication to duty, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) said with the support of all stakeholders, the problem of drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria will be drastically reduced very soon. #
Power Outage As Nigeria’s Electricity Grid Collapses
Nigeria’s electricity grid has suffered a system collapse, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced on Wednesday.
TCN General Manager (Public Affairs), Ndidi Mbah, explained in a statement that the system collapse led to the power outage witnessed in various parts of the country.
She, however, noted that the company was already making effort to fully restore electricity on the grid.
The TCN spokesperson said TCN commenced grid recovery immediately after the collapse, from Shiroro Generating Station to Katampe TS, Abuja through the Shiroro – Katampe line at 11:29 am, and also through Delta Generating Station to Benin Transmission Substation and has reached Osogbo and parts of Lagos. #
