Thirty-five witnesses testify over Maza-Kuka, Kulho, other killings in Niger

A total of thirty-five witnesses have testified before the Niger State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the killings, injury and abductions of several persons at Mazakuka, Kulho, Adogon Malam and other communities in Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.

Those who have so far appeared before the Commission include the Secretary to the Niger State Government, SSG, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane.

The Registrar of the Commission, Suleiman Usman Dagbaje, told newsmen in Minna that the witnesses gave useful information that will assist the commission in its findings.

Dagbaje, shortly after the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Danladi Ahmed had adjourned sitting, revealed that the 35 witnesses appeared between 20th December, 2021 when the commission started its first sitting to Wednesday 5th January 2022.

The registrar also noted that the SSG who appeared before the commission when it resumed sitting after the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Others who appeared before the panel include the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Mr Emmanuel Bagna Umar, DCP Shehu Abdullahi, DPO Mashegu council, BT Njoughul and the DPO of Ibbi town.

Others are the Sarkin Hausawan Adogon Malam, Bala Yauri, the village Head of Adogon Ebewa, Musa Muhammadu and Umar Malami of Kabbaka community.

He further said the hearing was adjourned to Monday 10th of January,2022.

It would be recalled that on the 25th of October, 2021 about 18 persons were killed in the early hours of the day while performing their prayers in the community’s mosque.
