Uwajimogu’s seat: Family united behind Adanne, deny rift.

The Uwajimogu family says there is no rift in the family over who steps into the shoes of their deceased brother Senator Benjamin Uwajimogu.

There had been unsubstantiated reports that members of the family had been fighting over who will run for election to replace the late Senator

Other big names in Imo North politics had also been mentioned as jostling for the now vacant position.

Reacting to a publication by Nigerian Horn Newspaper, the family frowned at the insinuation “that there’s rancour and acrimony within the Uwajumogu Family over the upcoming Imo North Senatorial election which was occupied by late Distinguished Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu up until December 2019″.

In a statement signed by Head of the Uwajimogu Family, Mr Nnaedozie Uwajimogu the family said ” the entire Uwajumogu clan had unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu for the Imo North Senate seat.

“The Uwajumogu Family is neither boiling nor in disagreement on the choice of Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu to replace our late brother for the Senate position”.

The statement also called out those it described as detractors of the late Senator, urging them to stay away from the Uwajimogu family.

Sir

*RE: UWAJUMOGU’S HOUSE BOILS*

My attention has been drawn to the above newspaper headline insinuating that there’s rancour and acrimony within the Uwajumogu Family over the upcoming Imo North Senatorial election which was occupied by *late Distinguished Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu* up until December 2019.

Let me clarify strongly that the entire Uwajumogu clan had unanimously endorsed the candidacy of *Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu* for the Imo North Senate seat.

The Uwajumogu Family is neither boiling nor in disagreement on the choice of *Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu* to replace our late brother for the Senate position.

It is clearly evident that your Newspaper did not give sufficient consideration to the emotional consequences of dragging our family out for public ridicule few days after our late brothers burial. We respectfully demand that you retract that unfortunate false publication and apologize to the family accordingly.

The family is mindful of the antics of the detractors of Sen Benjamin Uwajumogu who have been jealous of the meteoric rise of DSBU and the family he left behind.

We urge them to stay away from the Uwajumogu Family.

Those instigating rancour within the Uwajumogu Family are hereby warned to desist from such irresponsible act.

I urge you to respect the sanctity of the family and allow Distinguished Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu to continue to rest in peace.

May God continue to preserve our unity, Amen

*Mr Nnadozie Uwajumogu
Head, Uwajumogu Family*
Umuihi Ihitte Uboma LGA**
