Tinubu Meets APC Govs, Reacts To Osinbajo’s Declaration
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Tinubu, has met with some governors of the ruling party at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja on Monday.
The meeting was held hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo officially declared his intention to vie for the presidential seat in the 2023 elections.
The former Lagos Governor, who also reacted to Osinbajo’s declaration, said he met the governors to collaborate on his 2023 ambition.
Tinubu said his mission is to seek collaboration, support, and encouragement of the party, APC, for his ambition to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a replacement for President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure. #
Wike Takes Presidential Campaign to Borno
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has taken his campaign for the Presidential ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to Borno State.
Governor Wike on arriving at the state-led his delegation on a visit to the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum at the Government House where he commended the Governor for the warm reception given to him and his team, despite being in the opposition.
He then proceeded to meet with the leader of the PDP in the state, Muhammad Alkali-Imam and party stakeholders from Borno and Yobe states to convince them to elect him as the PDP’s Presidential candidate in next month’s primary election following his track record in politics and commitment to the party. #
Barred SIM Cards Won’t Be Unblocked Without NIN Linkage -FG
The Federal Government has said millions of mobile telephone lines barred by telecom operators last week will not be unblocked until their owners’ National Identity Numbers (NINs) are linked.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Tuesday.
The commission said subscribers that have not registered for their NINs, they should endeavour to get their SIM registered at accredited centres across the country and then link the NIN with their SIM cards through channels provided by their service providers. #
EU Ambassadors Visit NNPC, Seek Deeper Partnership In Energy Sector
European Union (EU) Ambassadors in Nigeria on Monday paid a courtesy call to the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) seeking to strengthen its partnership with Nigeria in the energy sector.
The EU Ambassador in Nigeria, Samuela Isopi, said as a result of the current geopolitical situation in Europe, the continent was interested in strengthening its cooperation with Nigeria, particularly in the area of a possible increase in the supplies of liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The CEO of NNPC, Mele Kyari, assured the European delegation that the company would continue to deepen its historical relationship with EU companies in Nigeria in order to add more value to its business, particularly towards increasing gas supply to the global market and enhancing domestic gas utilization. #
UCL: Tuchel Rule Lukaku Out of Madrid Vs Chelsea Second-Leg Quarter-Final Tie
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will not feature in Tuesday’s League quarter-final second-leg clash against Real Madrid.
