Osinbajo urged Nigerians to reject agents of anarchy
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged Nigerians to together and reject the agents of anarchy seeking to cause chaos for their own selfish interests.
Prof Osinbajo stated this on Tuesday in Owerri, where he commissioned a cluster of roads executed by the state government.
While in town, the V.P also visited Imo State Police Headquarters and the Owerri Correctional Centre, both of which were attacked in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Vice President, while condemning the attacks also describe it as an assault on the way of life of the good people of the state. #
Kogi Begins Vaccination One Month After Nigeria Launched Exercise
The Kogi State government has finally commenced the vaccination of residents against COVID-19 in the state.
This comes one month after the Nigerian government launched the exercise with the vaccination of four frontline healthcare workers in Abuja on March 5th, 2021.
Speaking at an event to the flag-off of the exercise on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Health in Kogi, Haruna Saka, assured the residents that nobody would be deprived of taking the vaccine jab. #
NCDC announces 58 new COVID-19 cases
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced 58 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,388.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The country’s daily new cases continue to follow a downward trajectory, from an all-time high of 2,314 on January 22nd of the country’s daily new positive cases down to 48, as of March 29.
The NCDC disclosed that there were currently 7,700 active cases across the country. #
73-Year-Old Djibouti President Set To Extend 22-Year Rule
Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh is expected to extend his two-decade rule of the tiny Horn of Africa nation as the country heads to the polls on Friday.
73-Year-Old Guelleh, is facing political newcomer Zakaria Ismail Farah, his only rival after traditional opposition parties decided to boycott the election.

Djibouti is a largely desert country strategically situated on one of the world’s busiest trade routes and at the crossroads between Africa and the Arabian peninsula, a short distance from war-torn Yemen.
Under Guelleh, the country has exploited this geographical advantage, investing heavily in ports and logistics infrastructure. #
Super Eagles’ Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifying Dates Confirmed
The Super Eagles’ Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will kick off in June, according to the Eagles media officer Babafemi Raji.
The Eagles are in Group C alongside Cape Verde, Liberia and the Central Africa Republic.
The three-time AFCON winners will begin the qualifiers with a home fixture against Liberia which is fixed between 5th to 8th June.
Their next qualifier is an away tie against Cape Verde with the date set for 11 – 14 June.
The Eagles will host the Central Africa Republic on matchday three and the date is set for 1 – 4 September while the reverse fixture which will be in the Central Africa Republic will be 5 -7 September.
On 6 – 9 October the Eagles will be on the road again this time against Liberia before rounding off the group stage qualifiers on 10 – 12 October at home to Cape Verde. #
