Unknown Gunmen Kidnap 12 Muslim Worshippers in Katsina

 

Gunmen have abducted Twelve Muslim worshippers while observing midnight prayer at a mosque located in the outskirt of Jibiya town of Katsina State.

Witnesses said before the abduction, they arrived at the mosque at about 2:am on Monday shooting sporadically.

A resident of the affected community, Mallam Fahad Mukhtar who confirmed the abduction stated that before the gunmen arrival, residents have earlier been warned of the attack. #

 

 

Five shot dead, vigilante office burnt, Fresh attack in Anambra

 

Gunmen have shot five people dead and set ablaze the office of local vigilante in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 7.00 pm.

The gunmen reportedly came in several vehicles and motorcycles and unleashed terror in the area.

Spokesman, Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the attack, but said he could not give the number of casualties yet.

He said there was an attack in Ozubulu but not the police station but the Vigilante office by the hoodlums. #

 

 

Bishop Oyedepo tags COVID-19 vaccine deadly

 

The General Overseer of the Living Faith Church International (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged his church members to reject the COVID-19 vaccination.

He stated this on Sunday during the 40th-anniversary thanksgiving service of the church in the Ota Cathedral in Ogun State.

In the same breath, he warned his members not to take the vaccine.

He said vaccinators went to churches to get people vaccinated, adding that such was an “insult,” insisting that every church “is anti-COVID-19 zone.”

Oyedepo also alleged that the side effects defeated the benefits of taking the vaccine. #

President Buhari cancels Sallah homage to Presidential Villa

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that all celebrations including the forthcoming Eid-Al-Fitr should be limited due to the global Coronavirus crisis.

Muslims in Nigeria join others globally in preparations towards Eid Al-Fitr, a day that is celebrated to mark the end of Ramadan.

According to the presidential aide, Garba Shehu, the President, First Family, his personal aides, members of the cabinet and Service Chiefs who choose to remain in Abuja will congregate in full compliance with COVID-19 protocols at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa to observe the Eid prayers at 9 a.m.

Shehu also announced that there would be no traditional Sallah homage to the President by religious, community and political leaders after the prayer. #

 

 

Chad’s military captures 4 rebel commanders, 152 others

 

Chad’s military has claimed victory in its weeks-long battle with rebels, threatening to march on the capital N’djamena.

An earlier battle with the group led to the death of President Idriss Deby.

In a show of conquest on Sunday, the military paraded 156 rebels captured on the battlefront, including 17 vehicles seized. #
