The Nigerian police in Yola on Thursday confirmed the arrest of three members of a notorious gang, known as Shilla Boys. The state Police Spokesman, Deputy Superintendent Sulaiman Nguroje who confirmed the arrest in a statement said that the suspects were between the ages of 18 years and 35 years and had been terrorising people with dangerous weapons in some areas of Yola North Local Government Area. He said on January 20th the police received information about the suspicious movement of members of the gang at a hideout in Ngurore town, sprang into action and recovered one tricycle, knives and cutlasses. Nguroje said that the criminal gang usually disguise as commercial tricycle operators to rob their victims. Ondo: Presidency doesn’t know the meaning of forest reserves –Gani Adams The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, said Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, had constitutional rights to give the notice to quit illegal residents in the state’s forest reserves. Adams also said that herdsmen living in the forests are not only unauthorised, but also would likely cut down trees to make fires and must also kill animals for food. The former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated President Joe Biden on his inauguration as the 46th President of the United States.
