The Zamfara State Governor, Muhammad Bello Matawalle has charged the Southern Governors and other leaders with turning a blind eye over the unwarranted attacks on the Northerners living in the south.
Matawalle said every citizen has the right to stay anywhere in the country, so if Northerners living in the South lives be protected and accommodated, the southern leaders shouldn’t expect them to protect the lives of the Southerners living in the North.
The Governor on Thursday in a statement pointed out that the Northern leaders’ dignified silence in which is their desire for peace and must not be taken as a sign of weakness, he made mention of the attacks in Shasha and Imo.
Speaking further, Matawalle said the incident that happened in Imo on Sunday is unacceptable and no matter how a leader loves peace, conscience and fear of God must make such person speak out irrespective of barbarism or hatred.
He added that the North has more than what it takes to respond to any kind of aggression and hatred, which he said in a couple of years, the North has witnessed a steep rise in violent crimes and insurgency.
