NO MORE EXCUSES IN THE WAR AGAINST BOKO HARAM, BURATAI WARNS ARMY COMMANDERS

The chief of army staff , Lt. General Tukur Buratai held a critical operations meeting with his principal staff officers, GOCs and field commanders in Abuja on Monday.
The meeting which was a wake up call was also to put a time line for action to change the narrative in the war on Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria’s north east as well as operations against banditry in the north west.
The meeting which took place at the army headquarters was also to strategize on the operations of the army against other forms of criminality across the country.

The meeting discussed other wide ranging security matters, the state of the counter terrorism and other internal security operations in Nigeria and the necessity commanders, officers and men to redouble their efforts and ensure that all security threats in the country  are effectively checkmated.

Gen Buratai directed all commanders/GOCs, officers and men of the Nigerian Army to ensure that the charge given by President Muhammadu Buhari must be fully implemented so as to speedily crush Boko Haram terrorism and the myriad of security threats facing the nation. The Chief of Staff stated that the criminals and their collaborators and sponsors must be exposed, flushed out and destroyed.

He further stated that already the Nigerian Army has commenced major reorganization of her operations for optimal performance. He charged all commanders to lead the charge by being out in the field to effectively oversee the operations. According to the Chief of Staff, there is no time for complacency, no time for excuses and there will be no tolerance for shortcomings or failures.

One of the key decisions taken at the end of the conference, was to shift the location for Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2020 to Katsina State during which a major Army exercise nicknamed EX SAHEL SANITY will be conducted.
