Zamfara Govt Shuts Bakery, Filling Station For Working With Bandits
Zamfara State government has shut down one filling station and a bakery in the state for alleged complicity in banditry.
The state’s security task force ordered the immediate closure of the filling station in Tsafe and the bakery in Gusau local government areas of the state after arresting three suspected fuel and bread suppliers to bandits in the bush.
The chairman of the task force committee, Abubakar Dauran, in a statement, noted that the task force also recovered two motorcycles, one filled with fuel while the other was carrying a loaf of bread, two jerry cans, and a functional generator with fuel from bandits’ collaborators in Tsafe and Gusau LGAs of the state.
He enjoined residents of Zamfara State to support the fight against banditry by adhering to the new order for the containment of the security challenges being faced in the state.#

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Garba Baba Umar, the Head of INÂTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Nigeria, has emerged the duly elected Vice President (Africa) and executive committee memÂber of the International Criminal Police OrganisaÂtion (ICPO) – INTERPOL.
A statement by CP Frank Mba, Force Public RelaÂtions Officer, Force HeadÂquarters, said AIG Garba was elected on Thursday at the 89th INTERPOL GenerÂal Assembly currently holdÂing at Istanbul, Turkey.
It said the year 2021 General Assembly, which has in atÂtendance 470 police chiefs, ministers and senior law enforcement officials from the 195 INTERPOL member countries, seeks to identify areas where the organization can reinforce the globÂal security architecture and enhance collaboration against national and transÂnational crimes.
Garba, according to Mba, is one of Nigeria’s best criminal investigators and professional strategic poÂlice manager, with over 30 years policing experience both at national and interÂnational levels, polled the highest number of votes in the elections. #

Gunmen Kidnap N-Power Teachers, Principal, Vice In Ondo School
Unknown gunmen on Thursday kidnapped at least five staff of August Community Grammar school in Ondo State.
It was reported that three N-Power teachers were among the five people involved in the kidnap incident
The three abducted Federal Government N-Power employees were identified  as Oloyede Bukola, Adagunodo Funmilayo and Blessing Okeke.
The school Principal, Joshua Adeyemi and his vice, Ifedayo Yesufu were also kidnapped during the operation.
According to  an eyewitness,  the incident occurred while the school staff were travelling in a blue Toyota Corolla car belonging to the school Principal.
Responding to the disturbing occurrence, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ikare division, Oladutoye Akinwan, said detectives have been deployed to comb the forest in a bid to secure the release of the victims.#

Turkey Police Fire Tear Gas On Women Protesters
Turkish police on Thursday fired tear gas at hundreds of women protesting in Istanbul against male violence.
The landmark Istanbul Convention came into force in 2014 and laid the way for a Europe-wide legal framework to tackle, prevent and prosecute violence against women.
Turkey abandoned the convention after Erdogan signed a decree to that effect in March, drawing the wrath of women campaigners.
The protesters later wanted to walk to the main Istiklal Street and tried to cross police barricades but riot police fired tear gas to disperse them, an AFP reporter said.
A total of 345 women have been killed since the start of the year, according to the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, as Women campaigners told newsmen that  women feel more vulnerable and legally unprotected since Turkey withdrew from the convention.#

Manchester United Reach Deal With Ralf Rangnick Over Managerial Position
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ralf Rangnick to take over as new interim manager.
Rangnick will be taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was relieved of his position following a humbling 4-1 defeat by Watford, at Vicarage Road, with the club being in an unfamiliar eighth position in the league table.
The German had been part of a short-list of experienced managers inclusive of (current PSG manager) Mauricio Pochettino, (former Barcelona coach) Ernesto Valverde. Rudi Garcia, Lucien Favre, marked to take over at Carrington Road.
An agreement has been said to be reached with Lokomotiv Moscow boss , Rangnick, which will see him take up the interim role and remain at the club for two years beyond the end of the season on a consultancy basis.#
